The institution offers students the ability to study acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, integrative medicine and massage. They can also experience the benefits of shiatsu, tui na, and Thai massage. Students are encouraged to apply the principles of natural nutrition and enjoy the company of like-minded students and expert faculty. Those same individuals can earn their certificate or degree and enter the professions of acupuncture, Oriental medicine, and massage.
Challenge
No repeatable process to move new features into Production environment
Not using Target X features
Data duplication not being mitigated easily
Lack of data visibility across campuses
With current implementation, no way to see consolidated view of student data
Still using Salesforce Classic interface
Solution
Introduce SDLC process for Development, Testing, & migrating enhancement to Production
Update to Security Profiles/Roles to allow users to better see data across campuses
Removal of Target X application
Implementation of HEDA
De-duplication and migration of all existing data to HEDA model- Build out and update all automations (process builders, flows, triggers, workflows, etc.)
Enabling Salesforce Lightning interface
Result
PCOM team now has development/testing environments where enhancements can be tested before deployment to mitigate bugs being introduced into Production environment
De-duplication of existing Data and migration into HEDA model allows better view of Student information across campuses
Updated Security Profiles/Roles of users allows for better visibility of Student Data which has now been de-duplicated and no longer segregated by campuses
New automations allowed for existing integrations/processes to function the same as before while still fitting data into HEDA model
Salesforce Lightning interface allows for better on screen data visibility and quick access to related records which was not being used previously
