Case Study -  Large University –Student Data Management / Business Intelligence

Problem

The client required assistance within their Office of Institutional Advancement with various data management and business intelligence efforts. There was a need for improved data integration, data governance and reporting associated with their Banner Advancement system.

Solution

Our team was engaged by the client to assist in various efforts involving their Banner Advancement system.  We worked closely with client’s resources in design, development, implementation and documentation of all the solutions. 

The results were additional integrations with multiple data sources, data governance on new contact information process (including address validation).  We also deployed an improved reporting capability, developed with Oracle, Banner Advancement modules and Cognos.

Results

Integrations for information on new parents, marketing campaigns, degrees/certificates and Dun & Bradstreet data were successfully deployed with a high level of satisfaction.  Audit checks, address validation and cross referencing processes were implemented on all integrations leading to contact creation.  The additional information was added to the process to generate the prospect pool. An ETL process to load goal information was also delivered to improve the reporting capability of the system. A process, along with associated documentation was developed to improve report requests, reduce development time, and improve report delivery.  In addition to increased and improved functionality in their current applications and processes, the client is expecting increased performance in their fund raising efforts.

Recently Eigen X partnered with a major Pharma R&D organization to manage a substantial Planisware upgrade project. Planisware is a global provider of Project Portfolio Management software designed for product development and R&D organizations. More than 33% of the top 100 R&D spenders worldwide utilize Planisware solutions to manage their projects, resources and portfolios. The Eigen X team managed critical components of this project including the current state snapshot, business requirements, change management, communication, progress/impediment tracking and reporting and test execution. The team followed a hybrid (Agile/Waterfall) approach to help maximize business value and output during various phases of the project for the customer.
